WhatsApp may soon allow users to share encrypted files without an internet connection.

WhatsApp creators are working on several updates for their messaging program. In particular, we are talking about introducing a new file sharing function via a local network.

According to WABetaInfo, the beta version of WhatsApp Android 2.24.9.22 reveals the principle of its operation. It is known that it will be possible to exchange photos, videos, documents and other files with nearby WhatsApp users even without a cellular connection or Wi-Fi connection.

Users will be able to choose whether they want to be visible to nearby users to share and receive files over the local network. Users will also have the ability to revoke these permissions at any time.. And, as with WhatsApp messages, file sharing is end-to-end encrypted and users' phone numbers are hidden throughout the entire process.

As NV Techno wrote, it became known at the beginning of the year that the developers of the WhatsApp messenger are working on a new file sharing function that allows you to share data with people nearby. The feature is still in beta testing mode. There are no exact dates yet for when this feature will officially appear.
